Real de Catorce is a magical town in the mountains at an altitude of 2,750 meters above sea level. The climate is cold, semi-arid, or steppe-like, with temperatures ranging from 35°C to -10°C. It is a small village where Wixarika, Mexicans and internationals live together in an intertwined way.

Initial interview

The initial interview is to learn your objectives for the entheogenic or psychedelic experience, and to address any questions you may have about the retreat, the participants, or logistics.

Assement

The Assesment may be through an in-person interview, or online interview. Our aim is to know whether you are physically, emotionally and mentally fit to participate in the retreat, and to identify any pre-existing conditions that are incompatible with the use of the psychedelic medicine.

Our team will send you a confirmation email with detailed information for the retreat — payment methods, location, weather, rooms, what you should pack — and will also send the contract documents, informed consent, and emergency contact.

Confirmation

Integration begins after the first ceremony; our team will support you to process the experience and integrate it appropriately in order to obtain the greatest benefit from the psychedelic experience. After the retreat you will have the opportunity to schedule up to 10 integration sessions in the 3 months following the retreat.

The retreat is 7 days and 6 nights in high-end accommodations in the municipality of Real de Catorce in Mexico. It includes two ceremonies with entheogens with the support of traditional doctors, coaches, and therapists.

Preparation

Before the retreat you will have the option to schedule up to 4 preparation sessions with our team. Depending on your objectives we will assign you a coach or a therapist in your language, with whom you can establish your goals and prepare for the retreat.

Mescaline is a naturally occurring psychedelic alkaloid, a phenethylamine, found mainly in the peyote cactus (Lophophora williamsii) and other cacti such as San Pedro, traditionally used in shamanic rituals for its visionary effects. Mescaline’s mechanism of action is based on its binding to adrenergic receptors, especially serotonergic ones, for which it is an agonist. Specifically, there are several types of these receptors that participate in the generation of hallucination.

Peyote has been used by the Huichol (Wixarika) for millennia and is a fundamental part of their worldview and way of life. Each year ritual pilgrimages are made from the coast of Jalisco and Nayarit to Cerro del Quemado in Real de Catorce, S.L.P., where they carry out their traditional ceremonies. In 2025 UNESCO declared the Wixarika sacred route a cultural heritage of humanity.
